I am Rose, I took the name Rosebud for my illustrative name as it was my grandmothers nick-name for me, she along with my mother, enriched my childhood with fairy stories, myths and fantastic legends that I still treasure today.
I am an illustrator from West Sussex, though I have lived, worked and attended university in London, my home in the country side has far more of an evident influence on my work.
I am always nervous of other people looking at my drawings because it’s bits of my brain sketched down on paper, part of my world, and no one else’s. I feel myself being absolved into my work and my universe and sometimes find it difficult to drag myself out of it. Even so I enjoy sharing my dreams with others, and hope that it encourages their own imaginations.
I enjoy creating sketches, pen and ink drawings, paper cuts, and paintings in all sorts of mediums. I also do some design, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign are all good friends of mine, even if they have occasionally made me want to lob my laptop out of the window. My work seems to revolve around fantasy and realms of make-believe and imagination, manifesting its self into odd creatures of all shapes and sizes.
